About The Music

Join Omega Ensemble for a fascinating night of music by the celebrated film score composer Bernard Herrmann. Considered one of the most innovative film composers of all time, Herrmann wrote some of the most iconic film scores of the 20th century but was best known for the music he wrote for Alfred Hitchcock’s classic Psycho (1960). The highly charged music of Psycho brilliantly conveys the tension and drama of this legendary thriller. However, Herrmann did not just write for cinema. After a falling out with long-time collaborator Hitchcock he returned to concert work, composing the clarinet quintet Souvenirs de voyage and the nostalgic Echoes.

The concert will be preceded by a reception with light refreshments and a private exhibition viewing at the Gallery. Doors open at 7pm. Concert commences at 8pm. This event will be held in the Domain Theatre. Proudly sponsored by AxiCorp Financial Services
