About The Music

A compelling presentation of Brahms’ famed Clarinet Sonata in Eb begins this program of classics. Pianist Maria Raspopova shines in performances of Liszt’s Tarantella and Mendelssohn’s sparkling Rondo Capriccioso. Omega Ensemble’s Artistic Director, David Rowden, returns for Poulenc’s much-revered Sonata for Clarinet and Piano. The concert concludes with a stunning rendition of the competition piece Introduction et Rondo by Charles-Marie Widor, showcasing Rowden’s effortless versatility.
