Did you know the piano on which we perform in the Utzon Room bears the hidden signature of acclaimed pianist and conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy? The model D-274 concert grand piano was personally selected by Ashkenazy for Sydney Opera House from the Steinway & Sons factory in Hamburg.
This hidden secret is just one of the many reasons that make performing in an iconic setting such as the Utzon Room so special.
Each year, the cost of hiring and tuning grand pianos for our performances exceeds $20,000.
You can ensure Omega Ensemble continues to perform on Ashkenazy's hand-picked piano by helping us raise $20,000 by 31 December.
Your generous donation will be acknowledged on our website and in concert programs throughout our 2019 Concert Season. All donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.
